Election Day: An Interpretation

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

In my 'Kembara Mencari Tuhan' edition, I have been reconcile with a lot of characters made by Him. It was an unforgettable experience despite my journey was in the beginning. A lot of events and hikmah were digged since the first day. Part of it was human characterisation towards certain situations they had to overcome.

Most of the time they were giving a hint for me towards hidayah indirectly and I know this was considered as a sign that Islam has awaken, again. Muslim awareness towards Islam has awaken and the revival in Egypt was one of them. This kind of movement was triggered by al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun and Hassan al-Banna as its founder.

This is basically not a historical story to be discussed. I just want to share something that are similar to that movement which is happening currently around me. I just hope Malaysian will know something happened around them.

Since 19th till 21st February 2011, most of the university in Malaysia had an election. This was a good chance for students that are good in politics despite having a limited knowledge in Malaysia's politics. As per say, this was one of the stepping stone to manifest student's needs and one of them need to stand above all as a leader.

Regardless what is going in Egypt, the majority (Muslim) were aware that Islam has to be awake again. So, Pro Mahasiswa (Opposition/Democrat/PAS) representing the opposite site from the Aspirasi (Government/Republican/BN) was born.

As the result of the election, Pro Mahasiswa conquered most of the Malaysia's university. It was a good start for a good manifesto.

But, there are several things I do disagree. It is not about the manifesto. It is all about the supporters. There is still some supporters discussing the unfair treatment from administration side towards Pro Mahasiswa. Whatever is bygone, let it be bygone. What was done is done.

Most of the Aspirasi side are muslims. They have the right as Muslims too. We as brothers and sisters need to strengthen the ukhuwah between us and not dividing it because of different political view. This is totally wrong concept of Islam. And as leaders, they have to take responsibilities to make it better for others and not blaming each other. The point is, you have been apointed to lead, not to fight.

Same goes to supporters. Akhlak is one of Islam concerns in order to communicate with each other. It is not necessary to show your hate towards others because of their political view does not add up with yours. Please my fellow brothers. They are our brothers/sisters too.
